How strange it feels to hold a piece of my life in my hands.

I have just published my first book about how I took my nursery ‘The Enchanted Garden’ from Requires Improvement to Outstanding. It is only a brief outline of my journey, but if it helps other Nursery Owners / Early years workers to understand the importance of putting robust systems in to place, then I have achieved my goal. Working in the Early Years sector can be a very lonely place. Just knowing that there is someone out there who understands the battles and the hardships that you are going through, can feel very reassuring.

I didn’t find writing my book an easy task, I didn’t apreciated what i had achieved until i sat down and thought about it all. To be honest, I just get on with it, and did what I needed to do, in order to achieve my goal.

When i actually sat down and started to write it all down, wow, there was so much that I wanted to share with you all.

I chose to work with Authors&Co to publish my first book, as they offered me help, support and guidence every step of the way. For those of you who know me, i am passionate about what I do and I can talk the hind legs off of a donkey, but to actually put this on to paper I struggled.

Authors&Co gave me a deadline, I missed the first deadline, but I was adamant that I would make the next one. To help with this Abi and Jo advised that I write a micro book. A micro book is a little pocket book that you can read while having a cuppa. I liked the sound of a micro book, I know many people that have started a book with good intentions but then they have not found the time to finish it. This little book is an easy read, it will only take approximately 45 minutes out of your busy schedule.

I want to share my story with as many Early Years owners as I can. I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles and that it will get easier once you change your mindset and believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in you, then why should anyone else!

If you would like a copy of my book, please get in touch. All it costs is £1 which is a contribution towards the postage.

When I started my journey to being a successful Day Nursey Owner, I struggled to find the help and support that I needed. Working in the Early Years sector is like no other business. The balancing of the child to staff ratio’s, funded and non funded places, always being mindful that the children are receiving the best care and education that they deserve, to be honest the list is endless, but you can do this!

Be Awesome and achieve your goals, one step at a time, just like I have with my little book.
