Outdoor Play
What is “Outdoor Play”, you may ask?
It’s more than just playing outdoors… that is if you know how to provide meaningful “life lessons” to children during their playtimes outside!
What I focus on during outdoor plays are these:
- Risk-taking
- Boundaries
- Natural Environment
- Fine motor skills
All of these contributes not only to healthy physical development in children but also to children’s understanding of the world around them.
For example, instead of telling them “No, you can’t light a candle because it’s dangerous!” which, they most likely don’t understand at that age, teach them how to light candles safely!
Instead of not allowing them to use the scissors to cut some rope or create papercrafts, why not show them how to use scissors safely whilst developing their fine motor skills?
There’s plenty to learn in this area and I’m willing to share my knowledge with you!
My Approach
What better way is there to teach than to work directly with the learner. As we all know everyone learns differently, so I decided to offer a more hands on approach for learners, enabling them to see and understand what to do and how to do it!
